The Sinn 903 is a direct descendant of the classic navigation chronographs originally designed for pilots, inheriting much of its DNA from the Breitling Navitimer lineage. Sinn acquired the rights to produce this model in the late 1970s, and since then, the 903 has become a cult favorite among collectors who appreciate its aviation heritage and German engineering. The slide rule bezel, a standout feature, is fully functional and appeals to those who value both utility and tradition in a modern timepiece.

The 41mm case wears comfortably while providing excellent wrist presence, and the watch houses the reliable Sellita SW500 automatic chronograph movement in current iterations. Earlier examples used the Valjoux 7750, which some collectors specifically seek out. Reference numbers like 903.ST (stainless steel) and 903.ST.BE (blue dial) distinguish key variants, with price differences often driven by dial color, movement era, and condition—blue-dial versions and limited editions typically command a premium.

When shopping for a Sinn 903, check that the slide rule bezel operates smoothly and that the chronograph resets properly, as servicing can be specialized. Box and papers add value, but the Sinn 903’s market is less affected by missing accessories than some Swiss counterparts. Early tritium-dial models are rarer and can show attractive patina, which many buyers prize; just be aware that replacement parts for older models may require sourcing through Sinn directly.
