Frequently Asked Questions

How does the watch identification work?

We use Amazon's Titan AI to create a visual fingerprint (embedding) of your uploaded photo, then compare it against embeddings of tens of thousands of real watch listing photos in our database. The closest visual matches are grouped by model and ranked by similarity.

How accurate is the identification?

Accuracy depends on the quality and angle of your photo. Clear, well-lit photos of the watch face typically produce the best results. The system works best for popular models with many listing photos in our database. Very similar references (e.g. Submariner 114060 vs 116610) may be grouped together.

What types of photos work best?

Photos showing the full watch face clearly, with good lighting and minimal background clutter, produce the best results. Wrist shots, macro shots of specific details, or heavily cropped images may reduce accuracy.

Is this service free?

Yes, completely free. You can identify up to 20 watches per hour without signing up.

What happens to my uploaded photos?

Your photos are processed in memory only and are not stored on our servers. They are sent to AWS Bedrock for analysis and then immediately discarded.
